Bean to bar chocolate
Single origin Solomon Islands cacao from Cathliro, who work directly with villages in Central Guadalcanal, supporting over 200 farmers – 70% of whom are women. Wet beans are purchased weekly and paid for in cash at village level, then fermented and sun-dried by village in Honiara.
The resulting cacao has low acidity with rounded chocolate notes, light fruit and subtle florals – ideal for full-flavoured, balanced chocolate. Cathliro reinvests in farmer education around tree management, health, sanitation and sustainable farming practices, with the goal of improving quality of life for cocoa-growing communities.
