Always bringing the mouth party, Baron Hasselhoff’s is the creation of multi-award-winning chocolatier Clayton McErlane. Based in Berhampore, Wellington, he’s been crafting bold, bean-to-bar small-batch chocolate with inventive flavours since 2012.
Smuggle Puffs – Salted Caramel Mallow Puffs MacGuyver found inventive ways out of sticky situations, but The Baron has inventive ways of getting into them. Like the time in Belgium when a not-so-monastic monk stole his passport and he had to smuggle himself out of the country as a stowaway. For comfort, he fashioned improvised bubble wrap from the contents of his backpack: marshmallows, sticky caramel, buttery shortbread, 70% cacao chocolate and cinnamon (which worked as a breathing pipe). As the ship slipped out of Antwerp, The Baron nibbled his sweet, fluffy, lightly salted cocoon and had a bright idea.
